Music or a friend, I can’t not run in total silence.  So much more enjoyable with a friend. — Amy Cronk

Must have on a long run? T.P. — Mike Vieyra

My bandana. Nose always runs, AND it doubles if there are bowel “issues” on the run.  Been through a LOT of bandanas…  — Ginny

I cannot run without my GPS watch. My one ‘need to know’ is how far I’ve run. When my watch happens to not be charged, I have an app on my phone that I will use. — Karen Mangarano

Hmmm…since I just ran a long race this weekend, Glide or anything like it, chica band and water stations…… — Jennifer Bach

IPod, if I am by myself. — Lisa Shade

Sunscreen!  — Jan Comi

Ipod and shoes :-) — Tom Bourne

Water in my Buzz Light Year water bottle. — Eloise Hawking

A suffer buddy. — Theressa Miller

My Garmin watch – love it! — Sandie Sweet

Feet. Actually — a couch to 5k program. I’m on week 5!!! — Nancy Irwin

A watch — Dan Cass

A man (or woman) chasing me with a weapon. — Ross Aresco (non-runner, but awesomely supportive husband runner, Michelle Aresco)

A really good sports bra, worth every penny — Michelle Aresco

Shoes and soul. — Patrick Krott

Gum. — Casey Cass Stoll

I cannot run without some sort of distraction.  Preferably a girlfriend to chat with, but if I’m solo I gotta have my iPod. — Rhonda Berlin

Definitely my Garmin.  I have to know the numbers or it makes me crazy. — Robin Tufts

Socks and my favorite running shoes. Everything else is optional :-) —Rebecca W.

Never take anything with me other than what I wear; shoes, socks, running shorts, and if it is below 50 a shirt and a little more the colder it gets. No music, phone (unless, I`m on call for work), no tech stuff.   — Rick Armstrong

I’m with Rick on this one – except for the shoes and socks part! The most “tech” I use is a watch. I travel light when I run — no music, no GPS, no shoes! Just me and the road. Although a SMOOTH road is always nice! (Sorry, Heather – couldn’t resist!). —Tom Madura Editor’s note: Tom is referring to a run I hosted at our house last summer. The township came through two days before the run and tar-and-chipped the road. Painful, run for poor barefooting Tom.

Now can’t run without my phone so I can use MapMyRun and track my progress! — Tracy Jenks

Garmin GPS — Dennis Albrewczynski

A hat!  Protects the eyes from sun, rain and sweat!   — Kim Hermeanness

I’m with Kim (above) on this one….I always, always, always wear a hat. It keeps the sweat from stinging the eyes. — Tom Toale

Music! — Michelle Hetrick
A hat, power socks and an ipod! — Ellen Murphy
My Garmin. — Randy K.
