Crickets …and turkey talk

Hear that? The crickets? The tapping of my nails against my desk? The deep sigh?

Whistle, whistle, whistle.

It’s not writer’s block as much as it is that….well, it’s November and, frankly, there’s not a whole lot to write about running right now.

This is the time of year that most of us cutback on mileage and let our bodies heal from racing season. Not everyone cuts back, I know. Personally, I think that’s a recipe for injury, but I had to learn the hard way that maintaining high mileage  year-round, hell or high snow, will take it’s toll. Most of us runners only learn things the hard way. We’re a hard-headed bunch.

I find myself scrolling Facebook and Pinterest for content ideas, topics, inspiring words….anything to post here to entertain, enlighten, engage you.

Not having a lot of luck tonight.

So…what should we talk about? What questions do you have? What do you want to know about? Help a writer out here, eh?

I can tell you this — if you haven’t registered for the Erie Runner’s Club’s Turkey Trot (Thanksgiving morning at Presque Isle State Park), you better get on it…like, now, because it’s set to sell out any moment. They will not accept more than 4,000 runners…you will not be able to just run without a chip (traffic concerns), so…get online, register now and run legally on Turkey Day.

Looking to dress up your shirt for the Trot, check out what I did find on Pinterest:

Instructions here.
