Final pre-race notes for ERC’s St. Pat’s race

   March 15, 2013 1:08 am

Per St. Patrick’s Day race director, Jim Lang:

Tomorrow morning is the St. Patrick’s Day Distance Festival.

The race is Champion-Chip timed. The chip MUST be attached to your shoelace. It will not work in your pocket or in your car. If you do not have your chip, you will not be timed. It is a commemorative chip. Please take it home and leave it on your mantle. It will not work at any other race, ever.

If you’re doing the 5k or 2mile, you want to plan to arrive by 8:30 at the latest (8:00 is better). If you are doing just the 10k, you don’t need to be there until 9:30.

Road access to the Rotary will be shut down at 8:00, and parking will be limited to the bay side of the lot. In other words, you’re better off parking at Beach 8 and walking over.

The race will start at 9 for the 5k and 9:10 for the 2 mile.  If you miss the start we will not adjust your time for the difference.

10k start is at 10:10 am.  We reserve the right to adjust as necessary for conditions.

Awards will be at approx 9:45 and 11:00. If you miss the presentation, you WILL be able to pick up your awards before you leave.  Awards will NOT be saved or mailed. They must be picked up at the race.

If you are one of the 187 who is registered for the series, you may pick up your 3-race commemorative chair AFTER you finish your race on Saturday. You MUST finish, and you must pick up your own chair.

Finally, be aware that we’re very busy this weekend and may not be able to respond to any emails today & tonight, though we’ll try.

Thanks
Jim Lang.
