LAKERS UPDATE: Mercyhurst's Chippy earns 1-game suspension

Mercyhurst’s Kaleigh Chippy will join fellow senior F Christie Cicero in serving a one-game suspension Friday.
College Hockey America commissioner Robert DeGregorio has suspended Chippy and Robert Morris senior D Kylie St. Louis for one game for throwing punches at opposing players at the end of a penalty-filled game between these two CHA rivals this past Saturday in Moon Township. Both players initially received major penalties for checking to the head and face-masking, respectively, and game misconducts. But a video review determined that punches also were thrown.
Chippy will miss Friday’s CHA game against Syracuse at Mercyhurst Ice Center. St. Louis will miss Friday’s CHA home game against Lindenwood. Cicero and RMU freshman F Brittany Howard also won’t play that night because they were disqualified from last Saturday’s game for leaving the bench and contact to the head penalties, respectively. Disqualifications carry automatic one-game suspensions. League officials chose not to lengthen their suspensions.
