What to watch: The Otters begin the final weekend of the regular season with a chance to finish as high as the league’s No. 1 overall seed, which secures home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs, or as low as fourth in the Western Conference. London, which plays its next game Friday at home against Owen Sound, was four points behind the Storm. … The Otters have won five straight and six of their last seven games, including a 6-1 win over Windsor last Friday at Erie Insurance Arena. … With a win, the Otters will be the first team in franchise history to reach 50 wins in the regular season. … They can tie the franchise record for points in a season (102 in 2000-01), as well as match a 12-year-old franchise mark with their 21st road win of the season. … RW Connor Brown (43 goals, 80 assists, 123 points), LW Dane Fox (62-39-101) and C Connor McDavid (25-68-93) can finish the regular season as the league’s top three scorers. Brown and Fox are first and second, while McDavid trails Guelph RW Scott Kosmachuk (38-56-94) by one point… Fox will win the league’s goal-scoring title. He’s 16 ahead of Barrie LW Andreas Athanasiou (46). … Brown and McDavid should finish first and second in assists. McDavid is 10 ahead of Sault Ste. Marie LW Sergey Tolchinsky (58). … Brown (20) and Fox (18) could finish 1-2 in power-play goals. Dansk also has the second-best goals-against average (2.36) in Otters’ history (Adam Munro, 2.31 in 2000-01). … Dansk leads the league in GAA and is tied with Sault Ste. Marie’s Matt Murray with six shutouts. … C Kyle Pettit (upper body) skated this week, but his status for this weekend’s games remains undetermined. … Windsor can clinch the No. 5 seed in the West with a win as well as a loss in regulation or overtime. That would secure a first-round series against Guelph, Erie or London. … The Spitfires have lost four straight games by a combined 24-4 score. … They are playing the rest of the season without veteran Ds Slater Koekkoek (shoulder surgery) and Trevor Murphy (broken leg). … Former Otters RW Chris Marchese hasn’t played a game for the Spitfires this season while recovering from shoulder surgery.
