‘Wolves’ new president has Trenton ties

Mandalay Bay officials have scheduled a press conference for Wednesday at 3 p.m. to introduce Greg Coleman as the Erie SeaWolves’ new president and general manager. It will take place at the Bayfront Convention Center.

Eric Deutsch of Mandalay Baseball, which owns the SeaWolves, announced Tuesday that John Frey was fired as team president after 11 seasons. Coleman comes to Erie from the Single-A Bowling Green (Ky.) Hot Rods, where he served as their assistant general manager.

Before that, Coleman held that same position with the Eastern League’s Trenton Thunder for their 2006-08 seasons. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications from The College of New Jersey in 1996.
