Weather gives ‘Wolves two-day respite

The Erie SeaWolves received a rare 48-hour break between games when Sunday’s series finale at Bowie was called off because of rain. No makeup date was immediately available.

Despite being Eastern League Western Division opponents, Erie (6-9) doesn’t return to Bowie’s Prince George’s Stadium until two series there in August. The Baysox (6-11) claimed Thursday’s series opener, with the SeaWolves taking the ensuing two.

Saturday’s 4-3 win also represented the 1,000th career victory for manager Chris Cron.

The SeaWolves will use today’s originally scheduled off day to travel to Trenton, where they’ll open a three-game series against the Thunder on Tuesday.
