There’s no middle ground when it comes to the Erie SeaWolves and the Altoona Curve.

One weekend after the SeaWolves swept the Curve in a four-game series at Jerry Uht Park, Altoona did likewise in the teams’ three-game series at Peoples Natural Gas Field. Curve pitchers Tim Alderson and Kris Harvey blanked Erie on four hits for Sunday’s 5-0 victory.

Erie slipped back below the .500 mark at 20-21, while Altoona moved to 19-22.

Erie’s offense consisted of singles from Jamie Johnson, Niuman Romero, Rob Brantly and John Murrian. Altoona also was limited to four hits, but one of them was Quincy Latimore’s two-run home run off Erie starter Ramon Garcia in the bottom of the fifth inning.

The SeaWolves return to Uht Park to host Reading and Akron, two of the Eastern League’s better teams. Their eight-game homestand starts Monday against the Phillies.

Erie is expected to have a new face coming out of its bullpen for those games against Reading.

Sunday saw reliever Ryan Robowski promoted to Triple-A Toledo. The left-hander only allowed one earned run over an even 21 innings for the SeaWolves.
