Erie droughts done in with drama

The Erie SeaWolves simultaneously rid themselves of a six-game road losing streak and an 18-inning scoreless streak with Saturday night’s 3-2 victory over the Richmond Flying Squirrels.

Erie concluded the teams’ suspended game, which began Friday at The Diamond, by scoring all of its runs in the top of the ninth inning. Brandon Douglas capped the rally with a two-run triple that scored Wade Gaynor and Rawley Bishop, who doubled home the SeaWolves’ first run.

The outcome left Erie 26-27 and Richmond 25-30 going into Saturday’s regularly scheduled game, which was scheduled to start around 8:50 p.m.
