What’s wrong with a franchise making money?

A business is supposed to make money, right? What about if it’s a baseball team?

Sometimes, when a professional franchise makes some coin, fans aren’t happy about it — especially when that team isn’t winning titles.

Sheldon Ocker from the Akron Beacon Journal takes on the reports of the Indians making money. He doesn’t seem to have a problem with it. His closing:

But c’mon, folks, this is America. Snooki what’s-her-name makes a couple of million. Virtually every NFL team reportedly is a cash cow, whether or not it flourishes on the field. Isn’t it OK for the Indians to make a profit, win or lose? Well, isn’t it?

As a Pirates’ fan, I like to see any profit put back into making the team competitive instead of going into the owners’ pockets. Everyone is allowed to make a buck, but there’s something more than simply making money when it comes to owning a team.

So if an Indians’ fan is unhappy with the Dolans, I certainly see their point.
