Barely.
The New Britain Rock Cats rallied from a four-run deficit over the last two innings, but Erie reliever Robbie Weinhardt persevered for his sixth save. The SeaWolves’ 4-3 victory at New Britain Stadium concluded a 5-1 road trip that left them 34-33 going into an idle Monday.
The Rock Cats dropped to 35-32 after the teams’ last regular season meeting.

Niuman Romero continued to thrive since manager Chris Cron dropped the shortstop into the third spot of the SeaWolves’ batting order. Romero had three of the visitors’ nine hits and scored once.
Brandon Douglas, who hit ahead of Romero, scored two runs and drove in a third. Romero and Douglas helped Erie pitcher Patrick Cooper win for the first time as a Double-A rookie.
Cooper blanked New Britain on three hits over six innings.
