Garcia finally called up

If there was a prospect in Class A that Erie SeaWolves fans can get excited about, it was Avisail Garcia. The top outfield prospect in the Detroit Tigers organization was called up and will be in uniform Wednesday. Garcia, the No. 7 overall prospect for the Tigers, stands 6 feet 4 inches and is 240 pounds. He hit .289 with Lakeland this season, including eight doubles, five triples, eight home runs, 36 RBIs and 14 stolen bases. Garcia was signed as a non-draft free agent on July 6, 2007 and was named the best defensive outfielder in the Tigers organization in 2011.
