The Erie SeaWolves salvaged the finale of their four-game series against Reading with Sunday’s 9-1 victory at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Erie (56-77) never trailed after its six-run first inning, highlighted by Brandon Douglas’ three-run home run. Douglas also socked a solo homer in the sixth, and finished the game with three hits, four RBIs and two runs scored.
Avisail Garcia added another three hits and an RBI for the SeaWolves, with Niuman Romero singling for his Eastern League-leading 150th hit.

Darin Ruf hit his league-leading 35th homer for Reading (71-63), which remained in second place in the league’s Eastern Division despite Sunday’s loss. Thanks to their three victories in four games against Erie, the Phillies currently hold the division’s wild-card playoff berth by three games over New Britain.
Erie resumes its final road trip of 2012 with Monday’s opener of a four-game series against Bowie. Similar to Reading, the Baysox seek to claim the wild-card berth in league’s Western Division.
