Tigers defend AL Central Division

The Detroit Tigers repeated as American League Central Division titlists with Monday night’s 6-3 victory over the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium.

Avisail Garcia, who played for the Erie SeaWolves during their 2012 Eastern League season, contributed to the clinching victory. Garcia singled and scored as their starting right fielder.

Another former Erie player who helped the Tigers (87-73) to Monday’s win was Andy Dirks. The left fielder was good for two hits and a run.

Former Mercyhurst University outfielder David Lough singled for the Royals (71-89).
