Erie SeaWolves unveil new look

Erie SeaWolves officials unveiled new colors, logos and uniforms to fans and media Thursday night during a news conference at the Bel-Aire Clarion Hotel and Conference Center.
The new “pirate wolf” logo features two crossed bat-swords as well as the team’s name and black, red, yellow, gray and white colors. This color scheme also is featured in the three new caps and uniforms.

After listening to thoughts from fans and sponsors several months ago, the SeaWolves enlisted the help of Studio Simon, a baseball brand development company from Louisville, Ky.  Red replaced orange as the primary color, which allows the club to sell a greater variety of merchandise.

“It was the time to freshen up” the SeaWolves’ brand, team president Greg Coleman said, after having the same logo and colors since 2001. “We are proud to start a new chapter in SeaWolves’ history,” Coleman said.

Fans also can purchase jerseys with names and numbers on the back for the first time. Merchandise already is available for purchase.

I like the new jerseys but I liked the old hat logo better.
