Chisox assign former Ainsworth figures

The Chicago White Sox announced two minor league personnel moves that involved those with baseball connections to Erie’s Ainsworth Field days.

Pete Rose Jr., son of Major League Baseball’s all-time hits leader, was named manager of the Great Falls (Mont.) Voyagers, Chicago’s affiliate in the Pioneer League. He played for the former Erie Orioles in 1989, the same summer his father was banned from from baseball.

The White Sox also announced that Doug Sisson will serve as their minor league outfield and base running instructor for 2013. Sisson managed the 1993 Erie Sailors to a 36-41 record in the New York-Penn League.
