A 6-0, 6-0 final in tennis is bad for the vanquished.
It’s no better a loss in baseball either, as the Erie SeaWolves will now attest.
New Britain beat the SeaWolves by 6-0 scores twice in less than 24 hours at Jerry Uht Park. The second time was Sunday afternoon, when the Rock Cats’ B.J. Hermsen and Luis Perdomo limited the hosts to five hits.
Erie, scoreless in its last 19 innings, dropped to 29-32 overall in the Eastern League’s Western Division. It’s the first time the SeaWolves have been three games under .500 since May 9.
