Matt Cain’s perfect game, which included 14 strikeouts, is being heralded as one of the greatest games ever pitched.

Was it the best ever?

Baseball-reference.com has a list of the greatest games ever pitched. You can check out the list here.

Kerry Wood made the list. So did Sandy Koufax. And Nolan Ryan? He’s on there a couple times.

There have been 22 perfect games in baseball, but there’s been just one umpire to be behind the plate for two of them.

Ted Barrett was the home plate umpire for Matt Cain’s gem Wednesday night. Barrett was also the one working behind the plate for David Cone’s perfecto against the Expos on July 18, 1999.
