The Erie SeaWolves must wait another day, or days, for their season’s first three-game winning streak.
Binghamton thwarted Erie’s latest bid with Friday’s 3-1 victory at blustery Jerry Uht Park. The Mets made the SeaWolves pay for four seventh-inning walks by Kelvin De La Cruz and Jared Gayhart, plus Michael Rockett’s throwing error that led to an insurance run in the eighth.
Erie fell to 8-11 in the opener of its seven-game homestand, while the Mets moved to 11-9.
