It’s a holiday weekend, and if your plans include a trip to Jerry Uht Park to see the SeaWolves against the Akron Aeros, here are some players to check out for Akron.

One player you won’t be able to miss is 7-foot 1-inch Loek van Mil. The 27-year-old right-handed pitcher from the Netherlands pitched in the Pacific Coast League last season. He has 12 strikeouts in 11 innings for the Aeros.

Outfielder Nick Weglarz once was rated by Baseball America as the No. 58 prospect in baseball in 2009.  Just 24, Weglarz played in Triple-A in 2010, but missed the second half of that season. He has power potential, but has just three homers this season.

First baseman Chun Chen and left fielder Tim Fedroff are among the Eastern League leaders in average.

For other players, here’s a look at my report from the Aeros’ visit in mid-May.
