Tejay Anderson and the Erie BayHawks haven't lost sight of what's at stake tonight. A win at Fort Wayne will earn them a playoff bid in their first season in the D-League. Erie is 3-2 vs. the Mad Ants.
Win and they’re in.
A victory at Fort Wayne tonight (7:30 p.m.) will put the Erie BayHawks in the playoffs in their first year in the D-League.
A loss will put them in a must-win situation Saturday against the Mad Ants at home only if Sioux Falls is able to win at Iowa tonight.
Sounds simple enough? Well, not exactly.
Let’s take a look at tonight’s games and see how they impact Erie’s playoff chances.
Erie (25-23) at Fort Wayne (19-29): A win tonight secures a playoff spot for the BayHawks. A loss will force them to win at home against the Mad Ants on Saturday only if Sioux Falls wins at Iowa tonight.
Sioux Falls (24-24) at Iowa (27-22): If Sioux Falls wins and Erie loses tonight, the Skyforce can snatch the final playoff bid if it beats Anaheim at home and Erie loses at home to Fort Wayne on Saturday night.
Anaheim (15-33) at Dakota (26-23): If Dakota and Iowa lose tonight and Erie wins its last two games, the BayHawks will win the Central Division, get one of the top three seeds and host their first-round game against an opponent of their choice out the four lowest wild-card playoff teams.
