Erie rookie guard Maureece Rice scored at least 20 points in 18 of his last 20 games.
Erie BayHawks coach John Treloar has said rookie combo guard Maureece Rice is good enough to play in the NBA.
The D-League editor Matthew Brennan feels the same way.
In one of his most recent posts, he said Rice is one of 10 players who should get an invite to play in the upcoming NBA Summer League.
With a powerhouse frame (225 pounds), deep shooting range and an ability to get to the rim, Rice is polished enough offensively. He averaged 18.7 points this season, shooting 47.1 percent from the field, 37.9 percent from 3-point range and 85 percent from the free-throw line.
At 6-foot-1, he’s not the tallest guard and could be a liability on the defensive end against taller guards, but he’s certainly capable of playing in the NBA.
