Here’s how Erie BayHawks players Maureece Rice, Erik Daniels and Quincy Douby fared Thursday in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
Quincy Douby (Toronto Raptors): Douby hit the game-winning shot to give Toronto a 84-83 win against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday afternoon. Playing 27 minutes and 23 seconds, Douby scored 17 points off the bench on 5-of-13 shooting, added seven assists, four rebounds, two steals and a block. He was 7-of-9 from the line.
In five games, Douby averaged a team-high 18 points on 46.9 percent shooting from the field. The Raptors finished summer league play 3-2.
Maureece Rice (Cleveland Cavaliers): Rice scored a point off the bench on 0-for-3 shooting in an 75-62 win for the Cavaliers against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night. Playing six minutes and 18 seconds, Rice was 1-of-2 from the line for his only points. He added an assist. In four games, Rice has scored a total of eight points. He’s shooting a woeful 3-of-14 from the field. The Cavaliers close out summer league play today against the Detroit Pistons.
Erik Daniels (Memphis Grizzlies): Daniels is listed having not played for the third consecutive game. At first, I was ready to say he wasn’t even in Vegas, but I talked to some people out there in Vegas and they say they’ve seen him around. It’s hard to figure why he hasn’t seen action yet. I’ve tried to call him a few times to no avail. The Grizzlies are 3-0 after beating the Los Angeles Clippers, 85-68, Thursday night.
