Although he was on a bad team in Anaheim, James White was a 2008-09 D-League All-Star.
The NBA D-League will have its expansion draft Sept. 2 to fill rosters for the two expansion teams – Maine Red Claws and Springfield (Mass.) Armor.
They’re going to pick teams from a “Returning Player Lists” of the two now defunct teams – Colorado 14ers and Anaheim Arsenal.
I tell you what, Maine and Springfield have some good players to choose from.
Very good.

Several players from the 2009 D-League champion Colorado 14ers will be made available for the Maine Red Claws and Springfield Armor to pick in next week's expansion draft.
Remember, Colorado won the D-League title last year and although Anaheim had a sub .500 record, they had some serious talent on that team like James White and Cedric Bozeman.
Heck, the Arsenal won at Erie last year, 79-74.
Now some of these guys will go overseas. Some like may even end up in the NBA like White and Trey Gilder of Colorado, but if they can get a couple of guys to stay, that will help.
Erie got Jackie Manuel out of North Carolina out of the expansion draft and he started all 47 games he played during the regular season. So you can get value out of the expansion draft.
Maine and Springfield will surely get some value in this expansion draft.
When Erie did the expansion draft with Reno, it was from an unprotected list of players from the remaining D-League teams. They were guys those teams either didn’t want or knew where going overseas.
This is totally different. Can’t wait to see how this turns out.
