“You coming to this part tonight,” he shouted at me.
“Sure am,” I replied.
“Damn right,” he replied back.
Earlier today, I went to the morning shootaround for the Maine Red Claws at Tullio Arena and one of their players, Tony Bobbitt, was already ready to play at 11 in the morning. Bobbitt played college ball at Cincinnati and was with the Los Angeles Lakers at one time.
“I’m ready to go right now,” he said during the shootarond.
In about three hours, he and the Red Claws will look to extend their winning streak to four games against the BayHawks, who are playing their home opener.
Then after the shootaround, I was interview Trey Gilder when Bobbitt came over and said, “Come to the show tonight. It’s a party tonight. Bring your pink pumps and your skirts.”
Pink pumps? Pink skirts?
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Bobbitt is averaging 11.3 points and shooting 56 percent from the field, 50 percent from 3-point range and 91.7 percent from the line.
