A week after being waived by the Erie BayHawks on the final day of training camp, guards Rod Wilmont and Oliver Lafayette made their debuts with Fort Wayne on Thursday night.
The Mad Ants lost 102-95 at Iowa to fall to 1-2 on the season.
Both players came off the bench in the loss. Wearing No. 21, Lafayette had just seven points on 3-of-10 shooting in 24 minutes and 51 seconds of action. He also had a team-high six assists.
Wilmont, who played for Fort Wayne two seasons ago, shot 3-of-9 from the field en route to scoring nine points. Wearing No. 10, Wilmont also grabbed four rebounds in 23 minutes and seven seconds of action.
Both players were 1-of-3 from 3-point range. Ironically, Rob Kurz, who Fort Wayne acquired in a trade with Erie for the draft righs of Georgia Tech forward Alade Aminu, scored a game-high 26 points.
Fort Wayne’s next game is Sunday at Iowa (3-0).
