Players to watch: Fort Wayne — SG Oliver Lafayette (averaging 13.6 points for Erie last season as a starter. Had 16 points in his first game against the BayHawks in last week’s 89-87 win in Erie; PF Rob Kurz (Missed two games at Erie last week with a back injured. Kurz was on Erie’s allocation list before getting traded to Fort Wayne for power forward Alade Aminu on the day of the D-League Draft on Nov. 5. He’s second on the team in scoring (17.9 ppg) and rebounding (10.3 rpg). SG Ron Howard (averaing a team-high 22.5 points a game). Erie — G Mike Gansey (BayHawks are 3-1 with Gansey on the team. Gansey came to Erie in a trade with Idaho for Donell Taylor). SF Frank Tolbert (Will play his first game for the BayHawks after joining the team last week. Avg 13.4 points and 5.2 rebounds as a senior at Auburn in 2007-08). SF Jackie Manuel (Avg. 41.1 minutes a game. He’s the only BayHawk to start all of Erie’s 19 games this season).
Fast facts: Fort Wayne – Won its last game at home against Maine, 103-93, Tuesday night. … Lafayette had 19 points, 11 assists and five steals in the win Tuesday. … This will be the seventh time Maine has played back-to-back games on consecutive days. Erie – Has won three of its last four games as it beat Fort Wayne, 100-70, Sunday in Erie. … Erie center John Bryant is second in the D-League in double-doubles with 10. … The BayHawks are 2-2 against the Mad Ants this season.
