Erie’s 2011 D-League Draft selections (video)…

Here’s a look at who the Erie BayHawks chose in Thursday night’s 2011 D-League Draft. Training camp begins Nov. 10 in Erie.

1st round: (7th overall) SG Cory Higgins (6-5, 190, Colorado). Avg. 16.1 points his senior season at Colorado in 2010-11. He’s the son of former NBA player and the president of basketball operations for the Charlotte Bobcats, Rod Higgins.

1st round: (9th overall) C Chris Daniels (7-foot, 265, Texas A&M Corpus Christi). Avg. 15.8 ppg. 15.2 points and 8.8 rebounds for KCC Egis (South Korea) in 2010-11. Daniels tried out for the USA Pan American team, but didn’t make the squad.

2nd round: SF Taj McCullough (6-7, 227, Winthrop) A second-round pick of the BayHawks in 2008, McCullough avg. 6.5 points in eight games for the BayHawks in their 2008-09 season before injuring his knee and being released. Picked up by Fort Wayne, McCullough averaged 15.6 points in 44 games.

3rd round: SF Mychel Thompson (6-7, 210, Pepperdine). The son of former NBA player Mychal Thompson, Thompson avg. 14.6 points and 5.9 rebounds as a senior in 2010-11.

4th round: SF Tirrell Baines 
(6-6, 220, Marshall). Avg. 12.8 points and 6.6 rebounds as a senior in 2010-11.

5th round: PG Al Nolen (6-1, 188, Minnesota), Avg. 8.4 points and 3.6 rebounds as a senior in 2010-11. Had surgery for a broken right foot last season.

6th round: PG Adrian Bowie 
(6-2, 195, Maryland). Avg. 8.8 points and 3.5 assists as a senior in 2010-11.

8th round: Jamael Lynch (6-1, 181, Massachusetts Lowell). Played overseas in Germany last season. Was a 20-point scorer.
