The Erie BayHawks had their five-game winning streak snapped in an 106-84 loss to Fort Wayne at Erie Insurance Arena on Saturday night.
The Mad Ants (5-10) won their first road game in seven tries and avenged a season-opening loss to the BayHawks (7-5). Ron Howard and Tony Mitchell each had 26 points to lead Fort Wayne while Henry Sims scored a team-high 22 points for the BayHawks.

On Wednesday, Kyle Goldcamp returned to the Erie BayHawks as a practice player. A 6-foot, 10-inch, 250-pound power forward, Goldcamp has played three seasons with the BayHawks.
The former Gannon University standout averaged 14 points and 8.4 rebounds last season. Erie has to waive a player to add him to the 10-man active roster. The BayHawks (2-4) play Iowa (2-3) Friday at Erie Insurance Arena.

Power forward Erik Daniels rejoined the Erie BayHawks as a practice player after two previous stints with the D-League team.
In Erie’s 2008-09 expansion season, Daniels, 30, averaged 21.1 points and 10 rebounds. He returned late in the 2010-11 season and averaged 14.3 points in 12 regular-season games. He averaged 19 points in the postseason.
The BayHawks (1-0) will have to waive a player to add Daniels. They have a full 10-man roster. The BayHawks play at Canton on Friday night before playing their home opener Saturday against the Charge.

The Erie BayHawks start their 2012-13 D-League season Friday night at Fort Wayne with a new head coach in Gene Cross. The former Notre Dame assistant replaced Jay Larranaga, who left to become an assistant for the Boston Celtics.

After averaging 15.7 points in 44 regular-season games as a rookie last season with the BayHawks, Kennedy spent time with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Memphis Grizzlies.

Erie BayHawks general manager Allan Houston has a program called “Father Knows Best” that uses basketball to help teach the importance of fatherhood and mentoring.
Also an assistant general manager for Erie’s NBA hybrid affiliate, the New York Knicks, Houston is bringing the program to Erie, Pa., Saturday, Nov. 10, at East High School from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
