Averaging 27.1 points and 10.5 boards, Mike Harris was a man on the inside for Rio Grande Valley this season.

I’m sitting here looking at the All-NBA D-League teams and that first-team squad is nice, but then I checked out the honorable mention list.

Hmmmm.

I could pick five guys from that list and seriously challenge the first team.

Rob Kurz (shooting) and Alade Aminu were traded for each other on draft day. Both played in the All-Star game.

Erie made its third trade this season in shipping D-League All-Star rookie power forward Alade Aminu to Bakersfield for shooting guard Blake Ahearn, a 2009 league All-Star.

A week after being waived by the Erie BayHawks on the final day of training camp, guards Rod Wilmont and Oliver Lafayette made their debuts with Fort Wayne on Thursday night.

The Mad Ants lost 102-95 at Iowa to fall to 1-2 on the season.

Jeff Potter is excited.

The Fort Wayne team president giddily blogged about adding guards Oliver Lafayette and Rod Wilmont after the Erie BayHawks waived them the final day of training camp last week. Check out his blog post.

In the process, he waived two players – Andres Sandoval and Brandon Cotton – who shot just 11-of-37 from the field in Fort Wayne’s first two games, which ironically were against Erie.

The BayHawks won the opener and lost the rematch last weekend.

The Erie BayHawks' first-round pick, Donell Taylor, left, played two seasons for the Washington Wizards.

Dea- day trades are always so zany, especially in a league few people ever keep track of them occurring.

I mean, how many people really knew the D-League did these type of things?

The Erie BayHawks not only drafted Donell Taylor with the second overall pick in Thursday’s D-League Draft, but they pulled off a trade in which they got Georgia Tech big man Alade Aminu for a player off their allocation list, forward Rob Kurz of Notre Dame.

Hmmmm.
