- Many say this the best team LeBron James has had entering the playoffs.
On the wait to play in the playoffs: “It’s seemed pretty long, but it’s here now. I’m excited. It’s the best time of the year for basketball in this league. It’s an exciting time for myself and our team. … This is what I’ve waited for. I’ve been quoted the last few days. It’s what we play for in the regular season to prepare for this moment. It’s here.”
On finally having a full team: “It’s been a while. We’ve haven’t a full team for a while, honestly. Guys have been in and out of the line ups. Big players have been in and out of the lineup. So it’s great to finally have everybody healthy. This is the right time to have everybody healthy in the playoffs.”
On how Shaquille O’Neal looks basketball-wise: “He’s looked good. We’ve had a few practices and he’s got an opportunity to practice the last week. He looks pretty good an he’s ready to go.”
On expecting Joakim Noah and Derrick Rose to raise their level of play: “I expect everyone to raise the game. It’s the postseason. As far as raise their game, I don’t quite understand the question you’re asking, but it’s the postseason. They have no choice but to raise their game.”

Mike Gansey averaged 18.4 poinst and 8.2 boards in 27 games with Erie this season.
4:45 a.m. Wednesday.
That’s what time Erie BayHawks guard Mike Gansey’s first of two plane fights exits the runway en route to China as he will play with fellow D-League players and former NBA stars Robert Horry and Chris Mullin, a member of the 1992 Dream Team that won gold in the 1992 Summer Olympics, in two charity basketball games.
Before he headed out, Gansey did a lengthy phone interview with me about China, the BayHawks and if his hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, were going to win an NBA title this season.
From nearby Olmsted Falls, Ohio, Gansey, as expected, picked the Cavaliers to win it all. Here’s what else he had to say Tuesday afternoon.

Center Zydrunas Ilgauskas may wind up back in Cleveland in 30 days, but other teams are eyeing the 7-footer.
Phil Jackson and Doc Rivers may coach on opposite ends of the best NBA rivalry, but they can agree on the following: Zydrunas Ilguaksas shouldn’t end up back in Cleveland after the Cavaliers traded him to the Washington Wizards for Antawn Jamison.
Before last night’s Lakers-Celtics game in Los Angeles, the two coaches spoke against a player being made available to join the team that traded him if the receiving team buys his contract out and waives him.
The Cavaliers are hoping the Washington Wizards buy out Z’s contract and waive him. Then after 30 days, Z can rejoin the Cavaliers – if he wants to.
