OK, this one is a little dated, but in the interest of generating some photo submissions to the Junior Varsity blog, I’m posting the shot below from the Family First Sports Park fall youth football session. Family First’s winter session playoffs begin this Sunday, with games in three divisions scheduled for Sunday afternoon. If you’ve never taken the opportunity to check out youth football during the height of an Erie winter, Family First Sports Park kicks off its winter session games today in its sports dome. The program is one of a handful in the United States that offers climate-controlled football during the winter months, and it’s grown to include three divisions of players ranging in age from 7-13.
Games begin today at 12:30 p.m.

The registration deadline for the Family First Sports Park Youth Tackle Indoor Football League for ages 7-13 has been extended until Sunday.
Parents can register children at www.familyfirstsportspark.com. The cost of the league, which runs Dec. 14-Feb. 27, is $150. For information, e-mail Mike Mischler at youthfootball@familyfirstsportspark.com.

Family First Sports Park’s latest indoor youth sports offering is a late fall baseball league set to launch later this month.
Details below in a release from the park, but this certainly an intriguing offering for younger (Little League age and below) teams in the area at a time of year when the outdoor diamonds are just about ready to be blanketed with snow.
