Bird banding at Presque Isle State Park

Watch a video of Sarah Sargent, Important Bird Area Coordinator for Audubon Pennsylvania, demonstrating bird-banding techniques at Presque Isle State Park on May 3 to two interns who are on a six-month program through the Student Conservation Association. The interns learn how to measure the birds and place a band on the bird’s leg. Sargent is collecting data to track the birds’ migration patterns as well as their general health.
