Fish for Fun or Fish for Free during Memorial Day weekend

Children 12 and under and their parents are invited to the Erie Pennsylvania Sport Fishing Association’s third annual Fishing Is For Fun Day May 28 at the Perry Monument, Presque Isle State Park.

EPSFA members will provide tackle, bait prizes, lunch and assistance fishing.

Registration is required and is limited to the first 75 children. Call Denise Work between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at (814) 474-5357. Include how many children and adults will take part, and if any will need fishing tackle.

Also this Memorial Day weekend, anglers of any age, whether resident or from out of state, can cast a line in Pennsylvania without first buying a license during Monday’s Fish-for-Free Day.

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission sponsors two Fish-for-Free days. The next is Labor Day. All other rules apply, so check the guidelines for the waters you’ll fish.

There will be a Fish-for-Free event May 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Perry Monument. Get tips and more from Fish and Boat Commission staff.
