Hunt of a Lifetime for Harborcreek youth

Mitchell Collins, 7, of Harborcreek Township, was awarded a Hunt of a Lifetime in September 2011 at Sanctuary Ranch in Stanwood, Mich.

Collins, who suffers from juvenile diabetes, shot a 220-pound 8-point Sept. 27 during a hunt guided by Mike Kolenda. The deer scored 123 Boone and Crockett.

Karen and Rick Ayers got the process started and Ted James, Hunt of a Lifetime’s Michigan ambassador, made arrangements to get Collins to Sanctuary Ranch. Paul Czarnecki at Tri-State Taxidermy created the mount of Collins’ trophy.

Hunt Of A Lifetime, founded by Tina Pattison of Harborcreek Township, is a nonprofit organization with a mission to grant hunting and fishing dreams for children age 21 and under who have been diagnosed with life- threatening illnesses.
