Help build a Beach One picnic pavilion at Presque Isle State Park

The Erie Runners Club is spearheading an effort to build a picnic pavilion at Beach One at Presque Isle State Park. The YMCA of Greater Erie, Achilles Running and plenty of other businesses and individuals already have elected to contribute; now you can, too.

All proceeds from the Run for Shelter/Rummage 5k Run/Walk May 26 will go to the pavilion fund. Each participant will receive a premium from a past race or Erie Runners Club merchandise, and also can buy a specially designed t-shirt for $10.

Entry fee is $15 for preregistration before May 21, and $20 after May 20 and day of race. Family rate before May 21 is $30 for the first two people and $5 for each additional family member 18 or younger.

The race is scheduled to start at 9 a.m., with registration starting at 7:30 a.m.

Awards will be rummage style. The final finisher will get his or her choice of award, followed by the second-to-last finisher and so on until awards are gone.

Get an entry form here, or for information call Rick Godzwa at (814) 459-8381 or e-mail him at rgodzwa@neo.rr.com
