Learn about fish management April 25 at Presque Isle State Park

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will hold a Fish Management Field Day April 25 at 1 p.m. at Presque Isle State Park.

Staff from the Bureau of Fisheries will be at the Perry Monument area to demonstrate and discuss techniques they use to conduct fish surveys, samplings, and research. One trap net will be set up on land to indicated what the net looks like. Another trap net will be set in the water close enough to the shoreline for all to see. At approximately 1:30 p.m., biologists will use the in-water net for a demonstration about research, sampling and survey purposes.

Pay a visit and you’ll be able to see and touch fish biologists intend to catch before you arrived. Ask questions to learn more about what the Fish and Boat Commission does and learn more about fishing opportunities.
