Van Tassel’s Timberland Bait Shop‘s sixth annual kids fishing contest is scheduled for Aug. 11 from 9 a.m. to noon at 36320 Dutch Hill Road in Union City.

The event is for children ages 3 to 16. Entry fee is $5 per person.

There will be cash prizes for longest fish in each category: Catfish, trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, rock bass, walleye, yellow perch, crappie, sunfish — and turtle.
