Timberland Bait’s kids fishing contest Aug. 11

Van Tassel Timberland Bait’s sixth annual kids fishing contest is scheduled for Aug. 11 from 9 a.m. to noon at 36320 Dutch Hill Road, Union City.

The event is for children ages 3 to 16. Entry fee is $5 per person

There will be cash prizes for the longest fish in each category: catfish, trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, rock bass, walleye, perch, crappie, sunfish and turtle.

A big turtle was the highlight of the fifth annual contest.
