North East native Chris Bosak will be the guest speaker at the Presque Isle Audubon Society‘s annual fall banquet Sept. 21 at Elks Lodge #67, 2409 Peninsula Drive.
Cost is $15, payable at the door. Presque Isle Audubon is underwriting the banquet.
Social hour starts at 6 p.m., with dinner buffet at 6:30 p.m. and the program at 8 p.m. Dinner choices include roasted rosemary chicken, Italian sausage with onions and peppers, baked rigatoni with marinara sauce, lemon pepper cod, parsley buttered potatoes, vegetable medley, tossed garden salad, baked rolls with butter, cake and ice cream and coffee and hot and iced tea.
Bosak’s presentation will be on “the importance of saving and maintaining habitat for birds and other wildlife and getting children involved in the outdoors to help to preserve the land for the next generation.”
Bosak is host of the weekly Bird Calls Radio show in Connecticut, where he is an editor at The Hour in Norwalk. He also has written his For the Birds column since 2000 in a number of New England newspapers, and has had a number of his photographs published. Some of his photographs will be shown at the banquet.
