Chautauqua Lake fishing tournament to air on Outdoor Channel, NBC

The General Tire Summit Cup, filmed in August on Chautauqua Lake, will premiere Jan. 3 at 9 p.m. on the Outdoor Channel.

The Jack Link’s Major League Fishing program will air six times a week starting. A total of five episodes over a five-week period will air on the Outdoor Channel. The championship round will be broadcast Feb. 9 at 1 p.m. on NBC.

Each day of the six-day competition comprises one episode. A seventh episode will feature fishing tips from the pros.

Each episode will premiere on a Thursday at 9 p.m., followed by rebroadcasts Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m., Sunday at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday at 1 p.m., and Thursday at 11 a.m.

Major League Fishing is a partnership between the Outdoor Channel and 24 top anglers. Competitors are not allowed to practice before events. Summit Cup participants knew they’d fish Chautauqua Lake only two days before the start of the event.

Filming was coordinated by the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce and the Chautauqua County Visitor’s Bureau in cooperation with Major League Fishing.
