Presque Isle State Park is accepting applications for paid internships in the summer of 2013.
Salaries range from $11 to $12.50 hourly and are funded through grants. The positions will begin on or around May 13, 2013, and end around the middle of August.
Applicants should be college students pursuing either their undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral degree. Fields of study that would best fit the position are biology, botany, parks and recreation, environmental science or environmental studies.

Once your information is received, she will send you more information about the positions. Interviews will be scheduled during the week of March 11-15, 2013.
The park said one group of interns will be responsible for collecting and analyzing water samples from the regulated swimming beaches. The other group will be responsible for removing invasive plant species by way of cutting, digging, and applying herbicide. All interns will have the opportunity to do both jobs, as well as have additional experiences with environmental education, ranger job shadowing, shorebird monitoring, beach and park clean-up, as well as working on several other special projects.
