A $35,000 bass boat is on the line for the winning team today at the the B.A.S.S. Mid Atlantic Divisional Tournament.
More than 100 anglers are on the water now for the final day of the three-day bass fishing tournament on Presque Isle Bay and Lake Erie. The teams from Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey and Delaware, plus juniors who are competing today, will weigh in at 2 p.m. at Perry Monument. The first-place state team wins a Skeeter TZX 180 Bass Boat and Yamaha 150 motor, valued at more than $35,000.
Anglers were able to get on Lake Erie and target smallmouth Thursday after being restricted to Presque Isle Bay on Wednesday’s opening day because of weather. And the pros haven’t been the only anglers affected by the weather recently. Erie Times-News outdoors writer Mike Bleech points out in today’s FishOn! fishing report for this weekend that the lake turned over a couple times in the past few weeks, altering typical fishing patterns and opportunities.
