If summer kicks open the door and demands that we spend time outside, fall’s a bit more sultry.
There are those days the temperature dips, the cloud cover colors the landscape blue-gray and the couch feels oh-so-good. It takes some effort to kick off the Snuggie, put on the hiking boots and head for the trails.

Check out a geocaching event Oct. 24 at Presque Isle State Park.
Registration for the Presque Isle Geocache Bash is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. at the Rotary Pavilion, and caching at 10 a.m. Participants with GPS units can find their way to some 25 caches on the peninsula, including five new permanent caches and as many as 20 temporary hides. Some of the locations are handicapped accessible.
Cache data sheets will cost $2 each. Prizes will be drawn at 3 p.m. by the host Northwestern Pennsylvania GeoCachers.
