Think the winter ski season is over? Think again, says Herb Stevens, the Skiing Weatherman. Peek’n Peak and the other western New York resorts are at or near full operation.

Wednesday’s lake-effect snow might not have been great news for those with long driveways to shovel, but skiers and resorts in western New York have plenty of reason to be excited.

Herb Stevens, the Skiing Weatherman, drops in with great forecasts for Peek’n Peak, Holiday Valley, Swain, HoliMont and elsewhere in his weekly video report:

Herb Stevens, the Skiing Weatherman, advises that conditions at Peek’n Peak and Swain should be “fantastic” this weekend, and that Holiday Valley conditions will be “superb.” Saturday is the Boarding for Breast Cancer Board-a-thon at Holiday Valley as well.

Herb Stevens, the Skiing Weatherman, filed his weekend forecast for the New York resorts ahead of a forecast storm that could make conditions optimal for the state’s slopes. Peek’n Peak is likely to get moderate fresh snowfall and Holiday Valley and HoliMont will get boosts in an already snowy week.

The lake-effect snow in the forecast around the region could make for packed-powder conditions at the ski resorts in western New York this weekend, according to Herb Stevens, your Skiing Weatherman. Check out his weekly video forecast:

Peek’n Peak is just one of the western New York resorts rich with packed powder after this week’s snowfall. Holiday Valley, Kissing Bridge, Swain and Holimont also offer sweet conditions for the weekend, according to Herb Stevens, the Skiing Weatherman:

Herb Stevens, the Skiing Weatherman, says all that snow that western New York resorts made recently will pay off this weekend as the weather heats up. The Acrobag is in place at Peek’n Peak, and 98 percent of Holiday Valley’s trails are open.

Herb Stevens, aka the Skiing Weatherman, says this might be the weekend to hit the slopes in western New York if you’re not into crowds. The holiday rush is over, but the conditions are perfect. Peek’n Peak is at full operation and Swain, HoliMont, Holiday Valley and Kissing Bridge also are fully open or nearly so.

Herb Stevens, the Skiing Weatherman, visited Holiday Valley at the right time for his weekend report on conditions at western New York resorts. Wednesday’s storm dumped a foot of fresh snow on Holiday Valley, and many resorts had their best snowfall in nearly two years. Peek’n Peak’s 180 terrain park is open, too.
