IUP’s Stamp, Brooks claim PSAC West weekly honors

Lindsay Stamp

Zhane Brooks

Former Erie high school basketball stars Lindsay Stamp and Zhane Brooks continue to excel with Indiana in the PSAC West.

Both players claimed conference weekly awards today, as Stamp was named PSAC West player of the week and Brooks was named freshman of the week.

Stamp, a Mercyhurst Prep graduate, averaged 22 points in two games with the Crimson Hawks. After scoring 19 in an 88-62 win over Lock Haven Wednesday, the sophomore guard poured in a season-high 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting in a 77-48 win over Slippery Rock Saturday.

Brooks, a Villa Maria grad, had career-highs of 20 points and eight rebounds while coming off the bench against Lock Haven. She added six points, two assists, two steals and two rebounds against SRU. She shot .692 from the field while going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line in the two games.
