Corry product Aaron Cressley, a junior at Pitt-Bradford, led the Virginia Valley Baseball League in earned-run average this summer with a mark of 0.62 while pitching for the New Market Rebels.
In 58 innings, Cressley yielded just four earned runs while going 5-1 in the collegiate wooden bat league. In his final six starts, including two in the postseason, he surrendered one earned run over 42 innings.
Cressley also tossed a scoreless inning in the league’s All-Star game and finished with 56 strikeouts. Cressley was named a first-team selection on the all-VBL team.
Cressley was a second-team all-AMCC selection this spring for Pitt-Bradford after posting a 2.25 ERA and 33 strikeouts.
