Villa Maria graduate Kayla McBride, a senior for the Notre Dame women’s basketball team, was named the espnW National Player of the Week for the second time in her career and was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference player of the week Monday.
McBride became the first Notre Dame women’s player to earn the ACC award in the program’s first season in the conference.
She also earned the espnW National Player of the Week and was named Big East player of the week as a junior in January 2013.
The 5-foot 11-inch guard averaged 20.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 60 percent from the field as Notre Dame claimed three ACC wins.
