Mercyhurst Prep graduate Lindsey McKnight and Iroquois grad Brittany Vasile are two of the eight members of the inaugural recruiting class for the Gannon acrobatics and tumbling program.
McKnight, who has three years of eligibility remaining, is transferring from SUNY Brockport with an expected major of Sport and Exercise Science. Vasile is expected to major in Education.
Coach Chelsea Shaw‘s incoming class also includes Ravyne Barnett (Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield), Haley Garelick (Valencia, Calif./William S. Hart), Alexa Maldonado (Dundee, Ore./Newberg), Haili Menard (Kingwood, Texas/Kingwood), Paisley Moses (Eugene, Ore./Henry D. Sheldon) and Ciara Rand (Goodyear, Ariz./Verrado)).
Shaw said she is excited to get the program up and running:
“This first recruiting class is truly special and unique in that they are playing the most important role of all. They are building a championship caliber program from the ground up at Gannon University. This specially selected group is the foundation for the first-ever acrobatics and tumbling team here at Gannon and one of the first 10 programs across the country. They are the future of this program and of the sport as a whole.”
