Villa Maria graduate Cara Wyant turned in another big game Saturday, but the Haverford women’s basketball team’s historic season ended with a 54-43 second-round loss to Ithaca in the NCAA Division III tournament.
Wyant scored a team-high 14 points and added six rebounds and two blocks in just 18 minutes. The 6-foot 1-inch senior forward sank 5-of-8 field-goal attempts, including a scorching 4-of-6 from 3-point range.
Her late-season tear helped the Fords earn their first Centennial Conference regular-season and conference titles. Haverford also claimed its first NCAA tourney victory Friday in a 53-48 win over Rhode Island College.
Allen, a sophomore guard, played 2 minutes and had a rebound.
Baldwin Wallace will meet unbeaten Farleigh Dickinson-Florham (29-0) on Friday at 7 p.m. in Madison, N.J.
